At this new development by Telford Homes in North London we had multiple teams delivering the installation of 460 MVHR Ventilation systems. With overheating planning conditions in place, higher airflows were required for the ventilation systems, resulting in a mixed ducting configuration of PVC and metal.
Key Information:
- Vectaire Maxi MVHR Heat Recovery Units
- Overheating planning conditions - ResiDUCT™ by Pinnacle Ductwork
- Low Profile 300 x 100mm metal ducting (equaivalent to 180mm diameter) installed in conjunction with PVC 220 x 90mm ductwork
- A1 Non Combustible rated ductwork also required where ventilation ductwork terminates through the building facade
MVHR - Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery
MVHR Heat Recovery Ventilation is whole house ventilation system ideal for energy efficient residential properties offering conintuous extract of stale, moisture ladden air and replacement with new fresher filtered air. As air is extracted, it is passed through a heat exchanger which recovers heat which is then re-used in the new, replacement supply air. The heat recovery process helps temper incoming air, and reduce heating requirements to the property. During summer months a 'Summer Bypass' mode automatically stops the heat recovery process, whilst the continuous airflow is maintained helping keep the environment cool and comfortable. All new replacement air is also passed through filters.
ResiDUCT™ by Pinnacle Ductwork (www.pinnacleductwork.co.uk)
ResiDUCT is a low profile ducting range with a larger cross-sectional area than typical plastic ducting meaning a greater volume of air can flow through at a given velocity, resulting in higher airflow rates. 300 x 100 = 180mm, 300 x 125mm = 200mm, 400 x 100 = 205mm, 400 x 125mm = 230mm
A1 Rated Ducting
A1 Rated Non-Combustible Ducting manufactured from 0.9mm hot dipped galvanised mild steel to provide A1 classification for the purposes of ductwork terminating through the façade of the building.
