Royal Wharf

Constructed in 2014, this large scale and fast-paced project required meticulous planning and precision, attention to detail and multiple teams onboard to deliver the results. We completed the 1st and 2nd fix of over 1300 MEV systems with rigid ducting at this new build development.

Utilising our bespoke my.HRV project management tool, we were able to quickly and effiiciently uploaded and share over 3000 documents including plot designs, method statements, 1st & 2nd fix certificates and DVC's (domestic ventilation compliance certificates) with our client, helping keep track of progress in real time throughout the project.

At this new development by Telford Homes in North London we had multiple teams delivering the installation of 460 MVHR Ventilation systems. With overheating planning conditions in place, higher airflows were required for the ventilation systems, resulting in a mixed ducting configuration of PVC and metal.

Overheating

Increased focus on energy perrformance in homes and the continued drive towards zero carbon has resulted in an unintended consequence of overheating issues in homes, especially in urban, high density areas.

New build dwellings located close to busy roads, industrial sites and airports often mean that windows can't be openable due to noise levels exceeding those set our in Approved Document F.

From ground to the 3rd level, diesel particulates are still highly concentrated - planning restrictions will be put in place around indoor air quality for new building dwellings.

These requirements will impact the ventilation stratgey in terms of duct routes for supply air, airflow rates and may introduce high grade carbon filtration.

Project Details
The Xerox development site was change of use and new build plots. We advised on and successfully installed a mix of ventilation methodologies in addition to designing a bespoke insulated duct component to ensure regulatory compliance and in keeping with the the aesthetic finish of the original building – a requirement of the architects.

On some plots there was a requirement for intermittent purge rates due to risk of overheating. Using our PVHR™ methodology we were able to achieve the required rates, saving our client significant costs in product and installation. The methodlogy uses the standard MVHR unit without having to increase duct size of site additional mechanical fans.

Project Details
Regeneration of West Hendon new build development. We installed MVHR systems to all properties and the entire project was managed via my.HRV, our bespoke customer portal which offers full accessibility of project status, sign off forms (first fix/second fix) and Domestic Ventilation Compliance certificates. We also provide all of the relevant operation and maintenance manuals and a HRV Homeowner guide for handover.
