Common PIV Questions

How does PIV work?

Installed in loft space or in walls (apartments), PIV units work to push new replacement air which is passed through a filter, into a home - this continuous airflow creates a positive pressure inside the home which in turn pushes out stale, moisture-laden air that can be causing condensation and mould. A PIV unit provides continuously replacement of air inside the property.  Units are available with heaters to reduce cold draughts in the winter periods.  PIV units should also be considered to be used in conjunction with local extractor fans at the source of moisture generation e.g. bathrooms and kitchens.

How often should I service my PIV unit?

PIV Units should be serviced annually to ensure they are working at optimal performance.

PIV filters can be hoovered during the year and should be replaced at 2 year intervals.
